How much do you charge for your custom cakes?
Each cake is carefully designed and curated for the customer in mind. The price varies and is dependent on the size, flavour and the complexity of the design.

At the moment, 4″ is the smallest size cake we offer. To obtain an accurate quote, please contact us via email at hello[at]vanillabeanlane.com.

How to order?
All of our cakes are freshly baked and made to order. We appreciate at least 2 weeks of notice, but we will do our best to accommodate orders with a short notice. For large orders or wedding cakes, please provide at least 2 months of notice. We accept orders for events within a calendar year, if your event is more than a year ahead, please send us an email at hello[at]vanillabeanlane.com to enquire.

I want to place an order, what’s next?
Once you agree with the design and quote provided, you can place an order by making a refundable deposit to confirm your order and secure the date. It’s very important that you secure the date as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as we only take a very limited number of orders each week.

We accept cash and Interac e-Transfer as methods of payment.

How do I pick up my cake? Do you deliver?
You can pick up your cake from our shop or choose our delivery service. The exact amount will be assessed when you are placing the order.

Are your macarons nut-free?
Yes! We do nut-free macarons. Note however, the kitchen in which they are baked is not nut-free.

Are your macarons vegan?
At this time we do not offer vegan macarons. However, we are currently looking into this — check back soon!

Do you deliver?
Yes, we deliver downtown Toronto. Pick up is available from our downtown Toronto location.

How should I store my macarons?
There are two ways to store our macarons:

  1. Store them in an airtight container and place the container in the fridge. The macarons will last for 5-6 days. Before consuming, remove the macarons from the fridge at least 30 minutes prior to eating to bring them to room temperature. This is when they taste their best!
  2. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will last 1-2 days.

I’m looking to make a custom order. Is there a minimum amount?
For custom macaron orders, you will need to order a minimum of 12. For information on pricing, view our prices here.

What colour macarons do you offer?
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, Purple, White, Black, Brown, Ivory. If you would like a different colour, please email us at hello@vanillabeanln.com and we will do our best to meet your needs. Please note that if you are requesting a custom colour you will need to order at least 12.

What macaron flavours do you offer?
Our flavours can be found here. If there is a flavour you would like that is not on the list, please contact us and we’d be happy to see what we can do.

What type of macaron designs can you do?
We can do edible water colour painting, edible black marker drawings & custom macaron shapes. Please view Instagram here (@VanillaBeanLane) for more images of past work.

When will my order be complete?
Please allow for a minimum of 2 weeks notice.

Order & Delivery Policies

Please ensure you review our terms carefully before placing an order. The following apply to all orders unless otherwise stated. Our terms may be updated without notice.    

  • Vanilla Bean Lane operates from a home-based kitchen and while “nut-free” options are available, the kitchen is not considered a “nut-free” environment.
  • Payment is due in part (50%) to secure the order. The remainder of the payment (50%) is due 30 days prior to the event date.
  • Payment is refundable in full up to 30 calendar days prior to the scheduled pick up or delivery date. Any cancellations after that period will be subject to a 20% administration fee.
  • We must receive the total balance of the order at the latest, two weeks before the event date or the contract/order is null and void, and the deposit will not be refunded.
  • Requests for any changes on the order (including cancellations), must be made before making the final payment. Once an order is paid in full, we reserve the right to decline any changes related to the order.
  • Changes to the delivery or pickup date (and/or time) will NOT be accepted within 48 hours of the original delivery/pickup date and/or time. 
  • In the event that a store credit has been provided to you, it must be used towards an order (or orders) where the event date is within 1 year from the date of the original event. All future order dates are subject to availability.
  • Our products may contain milk, wheat, nuts, soy and other allergens.
  • We are not responsible for any damages to the dessert after it has been delivered or received. The dessert should not be placed under direct sunlight and it should be stored at room temperature below 23 degrees celsius. 
  • If you or your representative elect to pick up and/or set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the dessert once it leaves our possession.
  • We reserve the right to use any photographs of the dessert for display or promotion without compensation.
  • All rental items must be returned in their original conditions within 2 days after the event.  A $50 late fee will be assessed for each day late. A replacement fee will be charged for each item not returned or damaged. 
  • The drafts and sketches are presented as representations of the dessert.  The actual product may vary based on the designer’s creative interpretation or structural necessity of the dessert.
